Sophie & Lewis: Weddings at Mitton Hall

Our last wedding of the Summer with Mr & Mrs Birtwell

Why did you choose Mitton hall for your wedding?

We chose Mitton for a few reasons; firstly it is beautiful, we know a lot of the staff and trusted them to make it perfect but our biggest reason was the sentimental value. Lewis’s mum worked there as GM when it was an Italian named ‘the stone house’ and after Lewis burnt down the family home at the age of 3 they actually lived there for a while. So there was no other choice in our mind.

Do you have a favourite moment from the whole day?
I loved every moment although the atmosphere in the church with the gospel choir was amazing and I think will be something I will never forget… lots of love in that room!

What advice would you give to an Bride & Groom who are planning their wedding?
My advice would be to plan early in bite sized pieces so it not all one big stress, take it easy and enjoy the process, don’t care too much about what everyone else wants and 100% get a credit card!
Congratulations Guys, thanks for having us x

Katy & Stuart: Weddings at The Inn at Whitewell

lancashire-wedding-video

In a pub by a river on a very sunny day…..

Why did you choose the The Inn at Whitewell for your wedding reception?

We had never been to the Inn before but as soon as we walked in we were taken by its charm and it’s stunning setting. The staff could not be more welcoming and helpful and we knew that this was the place for us instantly.

How did Stuart propose?

Stuart proposed on an amazing holiday in Cuba, on the beach, at sunset!! Who  knew he had it in him!

I know its hard but do you have a favourite memory from the whole wedding experience?

Our favourite bit of the wedding is a bit cliché but sharing it with all our friends and family; when else do you get everybody that is special to you under one roof!

What advice would you give any Bride & Groom who is looking to plan their wedding?

My advice is to be organised and book things well in advance to avoid disappointment! But also to trust the experts; they have done it all a million times before! Ensure to book people who make you feel good, who you can work alongside but also that can work alongside each other. Build a team around you that you love!

Congratulations Katy & Stu, thanks for inviting us to your BIG DAY, Ro & Lisa x

Hannah & Richard: Weddings at Gibbon Bridge

wedding-video-lancashire
“Hi Roland!
So rick and I have just had a lovely evening in with a bottle of mulled wine and take out pizza looking through our wedding photos and also the teaser video… we just LOVED the video and it brought tears to both of our eyes! We watched it a couple of times and can’t wait to see the feature video and extras!
Kind regards,
a very happy Mr and Mrs Barton out here in Australia”

What made you choose Gibbon Bridge for your wedding?

As we both grew up as children Hannah in The New Forest and Richard on the family farm we both have fond memories and love being in the countryside and fresh air. Now that we live in Australia we wanted to have a wedding that incorporated one thing we miss about living back in England, which is the English Countryside. We immediately fell in love with the The Gibbon Bridge Hotel as it offered everything we dreamt our wedding reception venue would have. The Gibbon Bridge Hotel allowed us to have a quaint traditional English country wedding reception after our church wedding. It has beautiful gardens with a backdrop of the rolling countryside along with very friendly staff and has a intimate and relaxed vibe.

How did Richard propose? (gushy details allowed)

Hannah lived in The Netherlands for five years before moving back to England to study nursing in Manchester where she and Richard met on a night out. Hannah and Richard’s first holiday together in 2010 was to visit her parents, allowing Richard to meet them during their university summer holiday, in The Netherlands. After that Hannah hadn’t been back to The Netherlands since because her parents then left the country. Hannah had always wanted to go back to visit The Netherlands as she has very fond memories from her time there and once they knew they were moving to Australia Richard suggested they went for her birthday in the September before they moved in the November. Hannah loved Schreveningen Beach so on her actual birthday they cycled there for the evening. Richard took Hannah to a bar on the beach front that they went to back at the beginning of their relationship (6years ago), which Hannah was surprised he remembered! Richard then asked if she wanted to go for a walk on the beach before getting something to eat. As they were walking along the beach a feather dropped in front of them then blew away and Hannah said ‘oh look it’s Grandma Haggis’ who is Hannah’s Grandma who passed away and Hannah was very close to and misses dearly. The nickname Haggis was because she lived in Scotland! A few steps further Richard then got on one knee and proposed. After the proposal he then said maybe that was your Grandma Haggis giving her blessing as she knew what was about to happen. (Hannah believes that a white feather falling in your path is a symbol that a loved one in heaven is letting you know they love you and are still there with you).

If you had to pick 1 favourite moment, what would it be? (Han & Rick)

Richard: Seeing Hannah walk down the aisle with her Dad.

Hannah: The first dance as husband and wife. I felt like a princess dancing and twirling in Richards arms around the dance floor.

Why choose a videographer to capture your BIG DAY?

We wanted to have everlasting memories of our special day that we can watch over and over again. We also know that there will be footage of different parts throughout the day that we may not have seen or that we have forgotten and wanted be able to relive these moments all over again.

James Jebson Photography & Flower Design Events joined us for our second WedCarKaraoke recently to share some stories and advice for future Brides & Grooms

We are fully aware that our singing could do with some improvement, maybe we need to get a professional entertainer in next time to drown us out!

Mitton Hall invited us to their Springtime Sorbet Wedding Fair last week, here is a short highlights video

Jono & Charli: Wedding films at Charnock Farm, Lancashire

Wedding Video at Charnock Farm

A very foggy day for our first wedding of 2017….

Youtube Version

Jono, Charli and the kids flew all the way from Canada for their big day at Charnock Farm last month and although we had some pretty grey weather, the wedding was so much fun to shoot.

A bit of a warning for anyone delivering a Best Man’s speech, make sure your story is suitable for the crowd you are telling it to, Jimmy realized this half way through his speech and had to quickly cut it short, it was still funny though 🙂

Thanks to Mr & Mrs Pearson for having us on their very special day, you both looked amazing, Ro & Lisa x

The Facebook version will be available here shortly

We have been working with a lot of our favorite Wedding Chums recently and though we would share some of the stories for you and hopefully give you a few ideas 🙂

Wedding Entertainment

Our Wedding Buddy Paul Guard hired us to produce a video to  show Brides and Grooms what he can offer for their wedding so went spent a full day at The Villa with him and his band capturing all the excitement.

Those ‘Good Ol Boys’ from The Rush asked us to film one of their live sets at The Mere Golf Resort to use on their web and social media sites so future Brides can see them in action before booking them for their reception.

We work with Dancefloor Couture A LOT! Most weddings we shoot will have one of their DJ’s/Host’s entertaining the guests so it was nice to be asked to film their second Wedding Entertainment Showcase which was held at Bar 1842 in Preston. A great day for future Brides & Grooms which gave them an opportunity to listen to musicians before booking them for the Big Day. You can find a few snaps from James Jebson who was photographing the event here

and speaking of DFC…

Robin & Adam joined us for our first Blog of 2017, we had a lot of fun filming our first WedCarKaraoke 🙂

Wedding Venues

Last month were invited to Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, this is one of James Places new wedding venues and certainly won us over with its rustic charm

Once again we attended Bartle Hall’s Wedding Showcase, this was a 5 day event which was open to newly engaged couples looking for a perfect setting for their BIG DAY.

Heaton House Farm invited us down to their Wedding Experience Evening before Christmas, this was open to couples who had booked their wedding at HHF and were looking for great suppliers. We have now been added to their recommended list which you can find here

We will be back for Mitton Hall’s open day on the 26th of February.

Thanks for reading, Ro & Lisa x
