Jono, Charli and the kids flew all the way from Canada for their big day at Charnock Farm last month and although we had some pretty grey weather, the wedding was so much fun to shoot.
A bit of a warning for anyone delivering a Best Man’s speech, make sure your story is suitable for the crowd you are telling it to, Jimmy realized this half way through his speech and had to quickly cut it short, it was still funny though 🙂
Thanks to Mr & Mrs Pearson for having us on their very special day, you both looked amazing, Ro & Lisa x
The Facebook version will be available here shortly
We started early on in the Leyland Lion to film Stu & the guys and then moved on to Astley Hall for the ceremony.
The sun was shining as Louise arrived and the ice was truly broken when the registrar made a little hiccup which generated the running joke of the day!
Now then, filming the interviews is something i am very used to by now but i was definitely not prepared for THE AUNTIES who completely took over my job which proved hilarious (boy can they talk)…
This was my first time shooting at Charnock Farm, a great venue if anyone is looking to book there and it was nice to be shooting with my photo buddy Tim Emmerton, one of the best around 🙂
I am getting to know the Rileys pretty well now from past weddings and this one certainly had their stamp all over it, a fun wedding for everyone present!
BTW, 10 years ago was the first time i ever shot a wedding video and it was also at Astley Hall 🙂
At Last, a wedding were I did not need to use The Sat-Nag to find my way 🙂
The weather was just about on our side for the group photos and i gotta say Jason was a natural when it came to the shots, i just pointed the camera and from no where, ‘Catalogue Pose’!
It was the details which really made this wedding for me (some you will have seen in the video) smokey drinks?, skull & crossbones and the personalised desserts which The Leyland Hotel prepared.
Now i have to mention the dance floor…. Break Dancing, Dirty Dancing (the lift move), Austin Powers, they did it all and very funny it was 🙂
Nigel (never out of the papers) Stewart put together a great line up in the pubs, clubs, restaurants and on the streets of Leyland….
I had the very easy duty of documenting a few of the highlights over the 2 days, The Street Monkeys (hope they have good insurance) could be seen jumping off walls at Peek-a-Brew, Ryan & Tom really got the crowds going in The Railway & The Gables on Saturday Night, James Christy entertained the crowds outside Peppermint Cottage and that was just a very small percentage of what happened that weekend.
Chorley Live is coming in October and Nigel tells me there will be a lot more after that!
Me & Karen from South Ribble spent a morning around Leyland filming some of the local business owners talking about their town. For a totally unscripted shoot, they pulled out some really good performances, although as you can see here, it was not 100% perfect. We had a rough preview a couple of weeks later, which was basically me holding an iPad in front of 20ish people which slightly made me nervous but it gained some great reactions from all involved, i’ll settle for that!

A long and verrrry busy day for me on this one…
Leyland Festival 2013 really raised the bar after a few hiccups over previous years, the sun showed its face just at the right time as thousands of people swarmed to Worden Park for a fun, family day out.
I won’t write too much about the day as you have probably just watched the film above but after reading lots of comments on their facebook page, it would appear that this years festival has kickstarted a bit of love for annual event.
Thanks to APC Overnight, Leyland Albion, Dance Talent Studio and Lucy Yates(the festival Queen herself) for their help with the film.

Isobel from Paces & Laces asked me to come down and photograph some of her shoes to upload onto their new website…
as you can probably see, there was quite a few that needed doing so we managed to get a quick production line going…SHOE-CLICK-NEXT, no time for any fancy set ups on this one!
Finally, a bit of a personal post here…my wife fosters cats for Blackpool Cats in Care and we received our first pregnant cat a few months ago so i decided to capture a few of the highlights of our time with her (and them).
The footage was shot on whatever device was in reach at the time,Camcorder, DSLR, Go-Pro and even and iPhone…
