Zoe & Jack: Weddings at The Shireburn Arms

Amazing! Couldn’t have asked for anyone better to capture our day”

Probably the coldest wedding we have had all year!
Luckily, Zoe & Jack chose The Shireburn Arms for their wedding venue, which meant roaring fires and the perfect surroundings for a winter celebration.
A few of our favorite moments from Mr. & Mrs. Mansfield’s BIG DAY…
The Bridesmaid Banter in the morning, Jacks absolute disbelief watching Andrew Dean Magician and of course, the Poo Story (saved for the home viewing extras).
Thank you both for inviting us to your very rowdy and fun wedding, all the very best,
Ro & Lisa X

Lucy & Daniel: Weddings at Mitton Hall

Just to say we have watched our video and we were overwhelmed with how amazing it was.
You captured our day perfectly and we have both cried and laughed throughout watching!
It is something we will treasure forever.
Thank you so so much. Keep doing what you do as you are amazing!
Love,Lucy and Dan” x

How much fun did these guys have on their BIG DAY!
It seems such along time ago that we first met Lucy & Dan at their home before Mr Covid came along and delayed their plans for a while but it was definitely worth the wait.
Along with Kerry Woods Photography, Nala & Knot and Flower Designs, we had an early and calm start before the party continued at Mitton Hall with DFC & The Funtime Frankies.

Every wedding has its own personality and for us, humour was certainly the driving force behind the entire day. We had so much fun with these two and their friends, thank you for inviting us and congratulations on both your wedding and new home, Ro & Lisa X

The Light…

wedding-videography-lancashire

Silly title, I know!

Today is the 8th of April 2021, yesterday I called my mum in Spain as it was her Birthday and I mentioned that I had sent a present through Amazon Prime and it might be late. What a terrible way to celebrate your Mothers 65th Birthday but somehow, this is ‘The Norm’
As a company, we have become very lazy in regards to anything wedding-related. We use to send out monthly newsletters to our clients, keep them up to date with what their employees are doing, show them some of our latest work but that has been so hard as there has been nothing to talk about, well, nothing positive.
Our last full-day wedding was March 2020 and in that time between then and now we have filmed just 1 Lockdown Wedding, lost all of our destination jobs, a number of UK weddings, and re-arranged the remaining on multiple occasions. All of the postponements arranged with minimum fuss due to the wonderful people who chose us for their BIG DAY.
We have remained relatively busy during these strange times. The commercial side of our business really saved us from having to retrain, find new income, or simply just live on Furlough. Having spoken to many wedding suppliers over the last 12 months, it seems that many of us are putting more effort into the corporate/business side of what we produce, and to be honest, that can be one of the positives we take away from this whole experience.
With the latest government roadmap seemingly on track, vaccinations flying through the country, let’s just whisper…

“There is light”

Shhhhh, don’t jinx it!

On June 23rd (as it stands) all shackles are released and our first wedding is 2 days after this. As wedding videographers, our job is to document what happens on the day in an unobtrusive way to capture natural reactions, it’s our job to be (mostly) in the background but what about those who are at the front of the crowd? Photographers, singers, DJs, Toastmasters, and anyone else who has to engage with 100+ people for hours and keep smiling. These people will have been out of the game for nearly 18 months, confidence may be a little low, for some it could almost be like starting all over again. Their businesses have been punched heavily through 20/21 and they may just need a little hug either on the day or a little time leading upto it. If you are a Bride or Groom who has made it through the last 18 months and you are now looking forward to your new date, give your favorite suppliers a hug, the ones who helped you through the difficult times and said “No problem”
Even though they have not yet worked on your wedding, give them a like on social media, tell your friends about them, review them on Google and let them know that they are appreciated.
For our part, we are going to list all the wonderful people who referred work to us over Lockdowns, please feel free to check them out.

Happy New Lockdown!

wedding-videography-lancashire

Happy New Year!

You have to feel sorry for 2020, it was that promising year which was totally screwed over and dismissed by most of the world, the abandoned child of our Gregorian calendar.
Our 2020 was quiet but not one we want to forget and not just for the bad things…

Christmas was probably the quietest we have ever experienced…

With no end in sight at the moment, our wedding work is a little unclear for the short term. Enquiries are still very strong but we, just like everyone in our industry are starting to feel that weddings may not happen until later this year. Nervous couples are now wanting to change their dates WAAAYYY out of reach from the Pandemic this time, one recently asked for 2024!
Being self-employed, we have had to adjust and rethink our strategy for 2020/21. We’ve managed to keep relatively busy since June last year whilst working with our wedding clients to rearrange their celebrations, some we lost on the way unfortunately and we will probably lose a few more in the next 6 months but we are still keeping positive.

2020 (as cheesy as this sounds) was a massive year of reflection, we found out what was important to us as a family and business, we learned to slow down, not worry too much and most importantly, enjoy our time together. We were a wedding client once, we’ve been through the 7-year itch and like most, we’ve been locked inside with each other for nearly 12 months,
we’ll be OK 🙂

If any of our Brides & Grooms need any assistance during these weird and silly times, please don’t be afraid to reach out. We are really looking forward to a time when we can share the Happy Days with our clients but for now, thanks for reading

Abbey + James: The Pre-Lockdown Wedding

wedding-lockdown-mitton hall

Like most couples who were looking forward to 2020, Abbey & James have felt the pain of trying to organise and look forward to celebrating their wedding day. With only a few days notice that ‘Our Glorious Leader’ gave us before a second Lockdown, the future Mrs Mercer contacted all her suppliers and BANG!!!

The wedding day arrived…

Congratulations to you both, what a lovely ceremony. We can’t wait to spend ‘THE BIGGER DAY’ next year with all your friends and family there for One Mahoosive Party X

Getting back to work after LOCKDOWN

wedding-videographer-lancashire

At the beginning of June when the restrictions started to slightly lift, we decided to reach out to previous clients we use for our commercial side of the videography business at RTP Creative.

As of writing this (27/08/20) our next wedding so far is not until October, but, as we have come to expect since all of this kicked off and dominated our lives, things change very quickly. We know a many wedding suppliers that still think marriages will not happen this year and we can understand their concerns as there has been no official updates for the wedding sector.

For now, we are happy to be enjoying a 9-5 working week until weddings start again, who knows what our first one will look like. Will gloves and masks be the standard look in our footage? Will smaller parties make it easier for us to film?. Whatever happens we will just be glad to get back to what we love and do best.
