Why did you choose Mitton Hall for your Wedding? Mitton Hall was actually the first venue we visited having never been there before. We knew it was pretty special when every venue we went to after our visit we just kept comparing back to Mitton Hall. It ticked every box for us. A light and airy neutral orangery wedding room, accommodation, (reasonable priced drinks) and an AMAZING outdoor space. Staff and food were just first class…it really was the perfect place for our perfect day.
What advice would you give to any couple who are planning their Big Day?
Whilst money and spending can go crazy and you so badly try to stick to your “wedding budget”…also remember that this is your special day and you will (hopefully) only be doing it once in your life. So whilst it’s good to watch the pennies, don’t take it to the extreme where you will look back with regret and think, “I wish we’d got this” and “I wish we’d booked that”. Plus don’t rush into anything, suppliers etc….you’ll know when it’s right! And our last piece of advice…things that seem so big to you last minute that you think to yourself you MUST get done…please don’t worry. It’s those things that on the day you won’t even think twice about. Just enjoy every minute and that includes the few days build up before. I know it’s tough but what were your favorite parts of the day? We definitely LOVED arriving at the venue. We had music blasting out of our wedding car whilst we serenaded everyone with our ahem perfect singing. Seeing all our guests waiting for us as we pulled up was so lovely.
Walking in to the wedding breakfast was also a real highlight for us…having a little boogie as we made our entrance and seeing so many smiling happy faces was amazing.
The church service was so so special for us, it felt like everything had built up to this unforgettable moment.
And generally just seeing all our ideas come together so perfectly (thanks to the help of the fantastic teams/suppliers around us)…an absolute treat!
Why pick RTP to film your wedding?
Why?….that is a good question. Still not sure why we did haha no but seriously. Roland was actually suggested to us by our photographers. And from our first meeting with the man himself we knew we’d got ourselves a winner. What an absolute legend!! Like a piece of the furniture some may say (in a good way), it never felt uncomfortable with the cameras around and it was so easy to just be yourself with Roland. We can’t speak highly enough of you and would recommend RTP in a heartbeat to anyone. Thanks for being you and doing what you do…legend 🏼 (
“Omg we can’t tell you how much we love it, not that we were ever in any doubt we would. Thanks so much for capturing our day so perfectly… we know you were rushed off your feet flying solo! It was so lovely having you as part of our day, we feel like you’re part of the crew now and we hope we see you at every wedding in our group”

Why did you choose Bartle Hall for your wedding?
We loved Bartle Hall from the first time we went to view it. We loved the two rooms and the idea that we could have our ceremony and wedding breakfast / evening reception in different parts of the hotel. We loved the Balmoral for the evening as everything is all in one place so everybody can be together.
How did Graham propose? (gushy details allowed)
Aw, he proposed on my birthday in Iceland (the country, not the shop 😂) just as it had turned midnight… we were absolutely freezing cold after being stood outside for 3 hours waiting for the northern lights to appear but not even a twinkle! Haha.
If you had to pick a favourite moment, what would it be?
It’s so hard to choose a favourite moment, I loved the ceremony and the speeches!
I knew we were having you before we were even engaged, I saw a friends video (Nikki and Darren Parkinson) and from that moment I said if I ever got married, I had to have you and you were the first thing we booked after the venue!
Congratulations Elly & GG, thanks for inviting us x

Why did you choose Mitton hall for your wedding?
We chose Mitton for a few reasons; firstly it is beautiful, we know a lot of the staff and trusted them to make it perfect but our biggest reason was the sentimental value. Lewis’s mum worked there as GM when it was an Italian named ‘the stone house’ and after Lewis burnt down the family home at the age of 3 they actually lived there for a while. So there was no other choice in our mind.
Do you have a favourite moment from the whole day?
I loved every moment although the atmosphere in the church with the gospel choir was amazing and I think will be something I will never forget… lots of love in that room!
What advice would you give to an Bride & Groom who are planning their wedding?
My advice would be to plan early in bite sized pieces so it not all one big stress, take it easy and enjoy the process, don’t care too much about what everyone else wants and 100% get a credit card!
Whilst wedding venue hunting, we found The Oak Tree of Peover on the back of a bridal magazine, we instantly loved it from the photos so we booked a viewing and fell head over heals with it. We loved everything about it, a small intimate, rustic and romance. It was perfect for us. From the very start we loved the idea of tipi’s so when The Oak Tree told us we could have tipi’s at the venue, it was a done deal.
How did Sam propose?
Sam proposed in the Lake District in my Auntie’s Cottage in Bowness. We went for a few days away over the last bank holiday in May 2016. I was upstairs and there was a knock at the door so I went to answer it as Sam was “busy”. Outside was our chocolate Labrador-Jenson with a top hat on, dickiebow and a sign round his neck saying “mummy will you marry daddy”. With my sister hidden behind a plant pot with a confetti canon, I couldn’t stop laughing. Sam then appeared behind me and got down on one knee. Little did I realised my sisters boyfriend videoing the whole thing through some railings
Oh my god that is amazing! Actually so so amazing! We can’t Stop watching it!!

What advice would you give to any Bride & Groom planning their wedding?
The advice We’d give to brides and grooms is just to enjoy every single moment of the run up and on the day. Everyone says that but it really is an amazing day and your just in this little wedding bubble so enjoy every single second you can. Try to book all your vendors as soon as possible to avoid being disappointed and to make sure you have your dream day with all your favourite suppliers. Surround yourselves with the best.
Why did you pick us to film your BEAUTIFUL WEDDING?
Roland and Lisa were recommended to us by sisters friends, we loved their videos from the beginning. Writing this we have only seen our sneak peak and that was amazing already so we are so excited to see the whole thing and the teaser! Your both so amazing and you both really made us feel at ease throughout the day. I couldn’t recommend you both more! It was a perfect day start to finish thanks to you both and we have amazing memories to cherish forever. Thank you so so much for everything.
The Teaser Trailer for Rachel & Adam, full film coming soon!
Why did you choose Farington Lodge for your wedding venue?
We chose Farington as it was a hidden gem on our doorstep! The interior and exterior decor was perfect and we liked the fact that it was suitable/adaptable for both a sunny day or rainy one! They are are also very competitively priced and came with a few recommendations from close friends.
What advice would you give to any Bride & Groom who are planning their BIG DAY?
Be organised and don’t stress! Try to do little bits at the time and appreciate all of your efforts on the day. Listen to your partner when they tell you not get carried away buying loads of unnecessary bits online! Open a joint account as soon as you get engaged and get saving affordable amounts each month 🙂
We know it’s a tough one but do you have a favorite memory from the whole wedding experience?
My favourite memory was taking a step back and seeing everyone’s beaming smiles 🙂
We also enjoyed the sing along moments with our entertainer and games played after the meal to keep the momentum up with the guests.
It certainly is difficult to pinpoint one moment – the whole day is the best memory!
We chose Rivington Barn for a few reasons…. it’s a beautiful venue, its close to home and we spent a lot of time there as a family so it holds a lot of special memories for us. It’s the only wedding venue we considered after we got engaged and we knew that my dad would have been over the moon that we were getting married there and that was really important to us!
How did Alex propose (gushy details allowed)?
Alex was very romantic, he whisked me off the Paris just before Christmas. I had no idea he was going to pop the question! I should have known really as he was being very soppy and romantic telling me how much he loved me! We went up the Eiffel Tower just as it was going dark, I moaned all the way up there as it was so cold! We spent about two minutes at the viewing point and I was like right let’s go down now it’s too cold so he didn’t manage to do it up there as planned! Instead he did it alongside the canal, I was taking some photos and videos of the tower and turned round to him getting down on one knee. It was totally unexpected, I didn’t think he had it in him!
Hard question but do you have one favorite moment for your wedding? (you can have more than one if you like)
My favourite parts of the wedding were getting ready in the morning with the bridal party, it got a bit hectic at one point as there were so many of us but it was just so nice and I felt really relaxed! Another highlight for me was walking into the wedding breakfast and everyone clapping and cheering! It just felt surreal that it was our wedding! Alex’s favourite part of the wedding was the evening do! We never left the dance floor! We played a lot of songs that reminded us of our youth and we had a foam machine for the last hour, everyone wearing shower caps jumping around the dance floor! It was definitely a night to remember!
If you could give 1 piece of advice to anyone planning their wedding, what would it be?
My one piece of advice is to enjoy the planning and work together! We got a little stressed at times but we still very much enjoyed planning it and would do it again in a heartbeat!
