Kate & Rick: Weddings at Mitton Hall

What a blast with a lovely couple!!!!

Why did you choose Mitton Hall for your Wedding?
Mitton Hall was actually the first venue we visited having never been there before. We knew it was pretty special when every venue we went to after our visit we just kept comparing back to Mitton Hall. It ticked every box for us. A light and airy neutral orangery wedding room, accommodation, (reasonable priced drinks) and an AMAZING outdoor space. Staff and food were just first class…it really was the perfect place for our perfect day.

What advice would you give to any couple who are planning their Big Day?
Whilst money and spending can go crazy and you so badly try to stick to your “wedding budget”…also remember that this is your special day and you will (hopefully) only be doing it once in your life. So whilst it’s good to watch the pennies, don’t take it to the extreme where you will look back with regret and think, “I wish we’d got this” and “I wish we’d booked that”. Plus don’t rush into anything, suppliers etc….you’ll know when it’s right! And our last piece of advice…things that seem so big to you last minute that you think to yourself you MUST get done…please don’t worry. It’s those things that on the day you won’t even think twice about. Just enjoy every minute and that includes the few days build up before.

I know it’s tough but what were your favorite parts of the day?
We definitely LOVED arriving at the venue. We had music blasting out of our wedding car whilst we serenaded everyone with our ahem perfect singing. Seeing all our guests waiting for us as we pulled up was so lovely.
Walking in to the wedding breakfast was also a real highlight for us…having a little boogie as we made our entrance and seeing so many smiling happy faces was amazing.
The church service was so so special for us, it felt like everything had built up to this unforgettable moment.
And generally just seeing all our ideas come together so perfectly (thanks to the help of the fantastic teams/suppliers around us)…an absolute treat!

Why pick RTP to film your wedding?

Why?….that is a good question. Still not sure why we did 😉 haha no but seriously. Roland was actually suggested to us by our photographers. And from our first meeting with the man himself we knew we’d got ourselves a winner. What an absolute legend!! Like a piece of the furniture some may say (in a good way), it never felt uncomfortable with the cameras around and it was so easy to just be yourself with Roland. We can’t speak highly enough of you and would recommend RTP in a heartbeat to anyone. Thanks for being you and doing what you do…legend 🖕🏼 (
Cheers!!!!!!!

“Oh my god I love it!!!! Thank you so much”

Why did you choose Mitton Hall for your beautiful wedding?

We chose Mitton Hall because we just loved the big windows at the back of the room over looking the river and the gardens. We thought it was so beautiful as soon as we left our viewing at Mitton we cancelled 2 other venue viewings as We just knew that was where we wanted to get married.

How did Tom propose (gushy details allowed)

Tom proposed in Dubai at the top of the Burj al Arab in the Al Muntaha restaurant. He had asked my dad months before and between the two of them they had arranged for my family to fly out from Saudi (where they lived) and the UK (where my brother lived) to celebrate with us afterwards! I was so annoyed as well as I thought my family were crashing our holiday together & couldn’t understand why they would all want to join us on our holiday haha! Little did I know they were all in on it!

If you had to pick one favourite moment from your special day, what would it be?

Toms favourite moment was the drinks reception after the ceremony as we got to relax with our guests and see everybody before the meal later that afternoon. Nat’s favourite part was actually the same (boring I know) along with the meal as again we got to speak to all of our guests!

Why choose a videographer to capture the day?

We chose a videographer as everyone said it’s a must have as the video captures moments you might not see for yourselves. As the bride you don’t get to see your guests arriving or the lead up to the ceremony so it will be nice to see the page boys and bridesmaids walk down the aisle etc.

Congratulations Nat & Tom, thanks for having us on your special day x

“It’s fantastic!!! Love it!!!! Thank you guys so much” x (Gemma)

Why Mitton Hall?
The reason we chose Mitton Hall, we were basically blown away by the beautiful building and it’s surroundings. We thought it would be the perfect venue for a wedding our size. Also, all of the staff on every visit there made us feel so welcome, and I felt they were so thorough and organised in covering every aspect of the wedding we had in our minds. They had everything under control and this showed on the wedding day as the day couldn’t of gone any better for me.

What made you want a videographer?
The reason for wanting a videographer for us meant capturing the moments that as a bride and groom you don’t get to see. Everybody tells you before your wedding that the day will go so fast and you forget moments so quickly so we wanted to be able to re watch and re live the day again and again.
A another big reason for me is capturing moments of Oscar being him crazy self and all the kids being the age that they are, playing and dancing ect together, I didn’t want to forget things like that either.

Favourite parts from the BIG DAY?
For me it was the ceremony, definitely. I really loved saying my vows to James, and surprisingly I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be. And for James, he also says the ceremony and having all our friends and family celebrating together.

How did James propose?
James proposed basically at home, just me and him there. We both discussed marriage early on in our relationship (very grown up of us haha) so it was something we knew we both wanted. And it was the day after a friends wedding, so I think he got the wedding bug, or maybe people pestering him at the wedding saying “when are you two getting married then???”

Congratulations Gemma & James, thank you for inviting us to your very special day 🙂 Ro & Lisa x

James Jebson Photography & Flower Design Events joined us for our second WedCarKaraoke recently to share some stories and advice for future Brides & Grooms

We are fully aware that our singing could do with some improvement, maybe we need to get a professional entertainer in next time to drown us out!

Mitton Hall invited us to their Springtime Sorbet Wedding Fair last week, here is a short highlights video

Just a lovely wedding 🙂

Youtube Version

I knew this was gonna be a great wedding to shoot, brides of weddings past and future in the same room, family members, talented wedding friends all came together for Mr & Mrs Awdes BIG DAY 🙂
So where do we begin…
It was a bright January morning at Mitton Hall, i spotted Lottie Designs shooting away, Finch Bakery delivering the cake and the groomsmen having a couple of early drinks to calm their nerves. Dax on Sax (with Sam Shepherd on DJ duties) entertained the guests before the Wedding Breakfast and then it was time for the speeches with a very entertaining song from Best Man Dan (thanks for the tracks http://www.danphillipson.com/ ). Sam Fitton joined for the evening reception and even managed to set the fire alarm off with his finale for Carly & Phil (Very Funny). Andy Murphy kept the Dancefloor filled until the small hours with some help from Mr Worm & The Phantom Splits (we’re shooting his wedding this year, can’t wait for that)

This was our first time entering any competition, it’s not something we were honestly particularly keen to do but thought ‘hey ho let’s give it a go’

Please press the HD Button on each player window for best playback quality

On the day of the awards we decided to shoot a quick before and after from the awards ceremony at Mitton Hall

Although we were unsuccessful in grabbing a trophy, we had a great night with some of our wedding buddies, meeting new people, putting faces to Facebook businesses 🙂
Now that the process is over for us, we can finally read all of the wonderful comments from our fantastic Brides & Grooms (the page order may be a little mixed, sorry about that)
