Claire & Paul: Weddings at The Belsfield Hotel, Cumbria

Snow was predicted, Sun took it’s place for this beautiful wedding in The Lake District

1) Why did you choose The Belsfield for your wedding?

We have always loved visiting the Lake District and my grandparents had a boathouse in Bowness for many years so we loved the homely feeling that the lakes had for us. The Belsfield stood out immediately on our tour of the many venues that we had seen online. In fact, I think it was my Dad initially who had stumbled across the Belsfield when we started looking at venues. By coincidence Paul’s parents had stayed there many years ago too, well before the Laura Ashley refurb!

2) What made you want a videographer for your wedding?

We had been told by many of our married friends how fast the day goes so knew it was important for us to capture the day from beginning to end. We loved recently watching my parents wedding video and knew that was something we would want to be able to do in years to come.

3) What were your favourite parts of the BIG DAY?

Claire- I find it hard to choose … at the start of the day it would have to be the dress reveal to my Dad but I also loved spending the morning with my 3 best friends, mum and Paul’s mum getting ready, then I’d say mine and Paul’s entrance to the wedding breakfast to ‘You’ve got the love’ and all the cheering and probably the moment Ellie Sax came on – we all had so much fun dancing the night away!
Paul- hearing the string quartet begin Des’ree Kissing You & seeing Claire walk down the aisle, unexpectedly, actually enjoying delivering my speech & the moment after the first dance, when the confetti cannons went off & Ellie Sax setting the tone for the night!
(We could go on & on … readings during the ceremony, speeches, string quartet, mind reader, casino – we loved it all!)

4) How did Paul propose? (Gushy details are allowed)

Paul first planned to propose when we were on holiday in Thailand, only I fell poorly so he had to re think his plan for when we were home! We had a birthday weekend in Chester planned a month or so later. I love a good picnic & the sun was shining so we went to a beautiful park for the afternoon. Little did I know, why Paul insisted on carrying the picnic bag over his shoulder covering his back pocket which had the ring in! During the picnic Paul climbed onto one knee & asked if I would marry him… he said some lovely words too but I was so in shock so I don’t think I registered what he had said… (apparently I grabbed the ring out of his hand and said is this real) … of course I said yes and couldn’t wait to phone our friends and family who were delighted. I still remember now how genuinely happy everyone was for us, it was a lovely lovely feeling!!

Gemma & James: Weddings at Mitton Hall

Highlights from the marriage of Mr & Mrs Tomkins

“It’s fantastic!!! Love it!!!! Thank you guys so much” x (Gemma)

Why Mitton Hall?
The reason we chose Mitton Hall, we were basically blown away by the beautiful building and it’s surroundings. We thought it would be the perfect venue for a wedding our size. Also, all of the staff on every visit there made us feel so welcome, and I felt they were so thorough and organised in covering every aspect of the wedding we had in our minds. They had everything under control and this showed on the wedding day as the day couldn’t of gone any better for me.

What made you want a videographer?
The reason for wanting a videographer for us meant capturing the moments that as a bride and groom you don’t get to see. Everybody tells you before your wedding that the day will go so fast and you forget moments so quickly so we wanted to be able to re watch and re live the day again and again.
A another big reason for me is capturing moments of Oscar being him crazy self and all the kids being the age that they are, playing and dancing ect together, I didn’t want to forget things like that either.

Favourite parts from the BIG DAY?
For me it was the ceremony, definitely. I really loved saying my vows to James, and surprisingly I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be. And for James, he also says the ceremony and having all our friends and family celebrating together.

How did James propose?
James proposed basically at home, just me and him there. We both discussed marriage early on in our relationship (very grown up of us haha) so it was something we knew we both wanted. And it was the day after a friends wedding, so I think he got the wedding bug, or maybe people pestering him at the wedding saying “when are you two getting married then???”

Congratulations Gemma & James, thank you for inviting us to your very special day 🙂 Ro & Lisa x

Thank you so much to you and Lisa, you’ve both done an incredible job at capturing every moment”

Mr & Mrs Grice

Why Mitton Hall for your BIG DAY?

I fell in love with Mitton Hall as soon as we pulled up the driveway at one of their open nights. The sun was starting to go down, the lights had come on and the whole place looked magical. We just looked at each and said ‘WOW’. We both knew that was our venue.

What made you want a videographer for your wedding?

I always knew I wanted a wedding video. I watched my parents wedding video over and over again as a child and I knew what it meant to have that as a keepsake as well as pictures. Phil however, did not want a videographer at first as he didn’t see the point if we were having a photographer as well. That is until I showed him Roland’s many video’s and clips on YouTube, Facebook and his website. He laughed and cried and afterwards said ‘now I see the difference and I definitely think we should have a videographer!’

What were your favourite memories of the wedding?

Hayley- The whole process of finding and picking my wedding dress with my mum by side will stay with me forever. Also, I felt really nervous on the morning of our wedding and the moment the doors opened and I saw phil standing there waiting for me, everything disappeared. I will never forget that feeling of excitement and happiness.

Phil- When the love of my life Eleanor (Shelby Mustang GT500) pulled up outside my parents house to take me to the wedding venue. To say I was surprised is an understatement! Obviously, seeing my wife coming down the aisle was a memory I will hold forever. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress and all my nerves disappeared.

What kind of experience did you want to give your guests?

We wanted our wedding day to be relaxed and enjoyable and not too formal. We wanted a warm, christmassy feel during the day and a great party at night to start off the Christmas holidays. It was also important to us to make sure all the children had fun!

“It’s flawless, loved re living the day some of your best material

yet, wouldn’t change anything your sir have done us proud thank you”

Matt

Why did you choose The Shireburne Arms & St Peters Church?

We picked the Shireburn because we loved the laid back vibe of it, the location within the ribble valley with the views & we thought it suited our theme of a rustic winter wonderland perfectly. We also fell in love with Sarah & the staff at the Shireburn who were super helpful & made the whole process really easy. The food is also amazing there too.

St. Peter’s was the closest Catholic Church to the Shireburn & was the most beautiful church we had seen. The drive up to Stonyhurst is so beautiful and Matt had worked their at the beginning of his career too & he had loved it so we thought it would be perfect. We thought the pictures would be lovely too.

What made you want to have a wedding video?

We definitely wanted a wedding video to capture every moment of the day. It goes so fast & there’s so much going on that we didn’t want to miss a second. We also wanted to be able to look back on it & watch the day over & over again.

Do you have a favourite memory form the whole wedding experience?

The whole day was just amazing. Favourite memories are walking into the church & seeing everyone & seeing Matts face. The speeches which were fab. Just having everyone around us there to celebrate with us. We loved every second of it. Seeing the room for me was also a highlight because it was perfect, exactly how I imagined it would look & more. It was the perfect setting for the perfect day.

What kind of day did you want to give your guests?

We wanted guests to feel comfortable, relaxed & chilled. We didn’t want anyone to feel like they were on their best behavior. We just wanted it to be really relaxed & for everyone to have the best time with lots of food, drink & dancing 🕺

1 word for this wedding…..Lovely!

“OH WOW Roland! We absolutely love it!!!  A few more happy tears again following that!

Every contact we have with you proves to us that our decision to chose you to be our videographer was absolutely the right choice! You are fantastic at what you do. Thank you so much! We really can’t wait for the final package!
Thank you so much”
(Jimmy & Anna)

Why did you choose Mitton Hall

We looked at many wedding venues around the area but came back to Mitton Hall due the wonderful setting and decor which assured us that it could be enjoyed by everyone either indoors or outdoors irrespective of the unpredictable weather.  We primarily wanted a cosy autumn/winter feel to the day and Mitton provides that with it’s gorgeous log fires and comfortable atmosphere.

What made you want to have a wedding video?

Family and friends advised us to take 10 minutes out of the day every now and again to take it all in as the “day goes so fast.”.  Whilst we tried to ensure we did this, the day did still seem to go extremely fast for us.  Knowing that we had a wedding video to capture the many magical moments that we undoubtedly missed put us both at ease.

What were your favourite memories of THE BIG DAY?

Walking down the aisle, seeing my gorgeous husband to be.  Looking round and seeing my stunning bride approaching down the aisle.  Seeing everyone that we love and care about together in the same room enjoying themselves.

Getting my speech over and done with (haha).

What experience did you want your guests to have?

A relaxed, warm, fun and friendly day where the guests could enjoy each others company and have a great time helping us celebrate our amazing day.

Absolutely incredible work! Every magical moment captured and presented in the most amazing way possible. We will be recommending you to anyone and everyone. You’re brilliant and such lovely people to be around. It was a pleasure having you there on our big day! Thank you Roland and Lisa! We will cherish our video forever and have already watched it numerous times! (Cried happy tears every time!) I just can’t put in to words how brilliant a job you have both done. Thank you. Anna and Jimmy. Xxx

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Mcmahon, thanks for having us x

A beautiful wedding In The Lake District with Mr & Mrs Kent x

“We absolutely love it!!! Thank you so much, Can’t wait to show everyone!”

Natalie & Lee

Tell us about the engagement?
Engagement was last March in Dubai, Lee surprised me with the tickets for my 30th birthday and proposed while we were out there 4 days later on our 2 year anniversary.
What made you choose New House Farm for your wedding venue?
We just knew we wanted to get married in a barn with lots of fairy lights and candles and when we drove to the lakes to look at the venue after finding it on the internet we just fell in love with it. And the area was beautiful.
Why did you want a wedding video?
We wanted a wedding video so we could remember the day in a way that photos can’t quite provide, seeing some of the bits we missed or just didn’t manage to take in. I’m looking forward to watching the ceremony back and especially listening to the speeches again as I can’t remember them! (The things photos alone can’t do).
What were your favourite memories of the whole wedding experience?
Hard to pin point favourite memories as it was all so amazing, but things that stood out; I loved getting ready with the girls in the morning, walking down the aisle and partying with everyone we love in the same room.
